Thank you

IFB Members help strengthen IAITC with another strong year of fundraising at Annual Meeting!

The mood was festive and filled with generosity at this year’s IAA Foundation events held during the Illinois Farm Bureau Annual Meeting, with members helping raise close to $58,000 for Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom.

Live Auction & Ice Cream Social

A great live auction lineup and generous bidders helped set the tone for giving to IAITC.  Items went well above retail value, proving our members won’t put a price tag on the importance of ag literacy!  Throw in an additional $2,150 received through Ice Cream Social donations, and the Foundation raised a total of $14,000 in just two hours-time!  A big thanks to auctioneers Joh Sullivan and Sean Arians as well as Ed Mullins and all of our ice cream scoopers!  We saw some pretty big scoops of that delicious Prairie Farms ice cream!

Trivia Night

Farm Bureau members packed the house at Trivia Night, where 37 teams and a standing-room only crowd celebrated Tailgates & Trivia.  We saw our favorite sports teams, couch potatoes, even the ketchup and mustard!  We LOVE our members for getting in the spirit for IAITC!  Speaking of spirit, Congratulations to the Ford Iroquois, who brought home the Team Spirit award for both their creative costumes and their superb dancing abilities!    For the serious side of the competition, Edgar County Farm Bureau “The Edgar-riffic’s” team showed their “Smarts” and took first prize in the overall trivia competition.  The 50/50 brought in just over $1,100 and the winning ticket holder, Sangamon County, donated their part of the winnings right back to the program!  Overall the evening raised close to $24,000 for Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom.  That’s a new record!

A special thanks to our Trivia Night Volunteer Committee and Co-Chairs Sean Arians & Joe Zumwalt. In addition, Lake CFB Manager Greg Koeppen, Medleys in Motion, has graced us with his superb DJ and hosting skills for 15 years!  Thanks Greg, you really help make the night!

Silent Auction & Country Store

Always a popular destination, this year’s IAA Foundation Silent Auction showcased 150 unique, handcrafted, and hard-to-get items.  We are overjoyed each year by the amazing items our members and supporters donate to the cause!  Between donations and this year’s generous bidding, the silent auction brought in $14,000 for IAITC.  The Country Store continues to feature items that showcase member pride, like IFB apparel, or great education resources like “IAITC approved” books!  Store purchases brought in close to $6,000, helping tip the scales for another successful year!
