The IAA Foundation held its 2nd
annual 5K Grow & Go on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the
Illinois Farm Bureau, COUNTRY Financial, GROWMARK
headquarters in Bloomington, IL.
The beautiful morning weather was
filled with the fellowship of over 400 participants,
supporters and volunteers that contributed to the fun
and success of this incredible Illinois Agriculture in
the Classroom Fundraiser.
Early estimates indicate this family
friendly event brought in over $18,000 for the upcoming
year’s IAITC program while spreading the message of
agriculture to age groups across the board.
Children & adults enjoyed IAITC learning stations,
commemorative farm scene photographs, a hot farm
friendly breakfast compliments of Eurest Dining Services
& Prairie Farms Dairy.
A tradition has begun! In year two of
the Grow & Go - top race finishers took home unique
tractor awards to help them remember our roots in
agriculture, and the important role farmers play in our
daily lives.
