IAA Foundation Scholarship

In an effort to fulfill our mission to support Illinois farm families and the future of agriculture through education, The IAA Foundation is pleased to present the 2017 scholarship recipients. 

Seventy students were selected to receive scholarships based on their academic achievement, participation and leadership in school and community organizations, and financial need.   A total of $126,400 will be distributed to assist with tuition costs for the 2017-2018 school year. The Foundation received a record 340 applications this year, representing 85 counties from across the state of Illinois.

Christy AllenCongratulations to IAA Foundation Legacy of Leadership Scholar: Christy Allen

Entering her junior year at the University of Illinois, Christy is studying Agriculture Communications.  From Arthur, she is the daughter of Dave & Cathy Allen, who are members of the Moultrie County Farm Bureau.  Christy was selected for this distinguished honor for her leadership qualities and well-rounded academic experience.  For her accomplishments, Christy will receive a $7,500 scholarship.  We think it’s a great investment in the future of agriculture! 



Abigayle EndressCongratulations to IAA Foundation Top Scholar:  Abigayle Endress

Entering her sophomore year at Highland Community College, Abigayle plans to study Agricultural Communication.  A native of Pearl City, she is the daughter of Bradley & Shauna Endress, who are members of the Stephenson County Farm Bureau.  Abigayle was selected for this top honor out of more than 340 applicants, and for her accomplishments, will receive a $5,000 scholarship.  We think it’s a great investment in the future of agriculture! 


Sydney MillerCongratulations to IAA Foundation Top Scholar :  Sydney Miller

Entering her junior year at the University of Illinois, Sydney is studying Agribusiness, Markets & Management.  A native of Gilman, she is the daughter of Todd Miller & Carrie Miller.  Sydney is a member of the Iroquois County Farm Bureau.  Sydney was selected for this top honor out of more than 340 applicants, and for her accomplishments, will receive a $5,000 scholarship.  We think it’s a great investment in the future of agriculture!  


Krista RussellCongratulations to IAA Foundation Top Scholar: 
Krista Russell

Entering her junior year at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Krista is studying Agricultural Education.  From Jerseyville, she is the daughter of Craig & Beth Russell, who are members of the Jersey County Farm Bureau.  Krista was selected for this top honor out of more than 300 applicants, and for her accomplishments, will receive a $5,000 scholarship.  We think it’s a great investment in the future of agriculture!

Did you know that Illinois County Farm Bureaus are awarding more than $600,000 in scholarships annually?  Combined with IAAF efforts, that’s close to $800,000 a year in tuition support to help the next generation of farm families and agriculturalists!
