IAA
FOUNDATION For the study of agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related major at any recognized university, college, or community college in or outside of Illinois. Five $1,000 scholarships and one $1,100 scholarship will be awarded. One of the six may be awarded to a qualified student studying foreign trade. William J. Kuhfuss Memorial Scholarship Mr. Kuhfuss’ family and friends established this scholarship fund to honor him for his many years of leadership in agriculture. One $1,200 award will be given to a student with an agricultural background or working toward an occupation in or related to agriculture at a post-secondary school in the state of Illinois. Dale E. Butz Scholarship The recipient of this scholarship will be a post-secondary student with a background in production agriculture who is majoring in agriculture, agribusiness, or agriculture related field. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of scholastic ability and financial need. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. Heartland NAMA Steven A Hammerschmidt Memorial Scholarship Must be a U.S. citizen. For junior or senior level college student majoring in agriculture or agri-business at an Illinois college or university, who is interested in a career in agricultural marketing, agricultural sales or agricultural communications. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. Case-New Holland Scholarship Must be a resident of LaSalle, Livingston, Marshall, McLean, Peoria, Tazewell or Woodford county pursuing a degree in ag engineering, biological systems engineering or ag mechanized/ systems management at a post-seeondary university, college, community college or trade school in the state of Illinois. $1,000 scholarship will be offered. Dorothy and Wilhelmine Ratermann Scholarship Open to any major, recipients must be a son or daughter of an Illinois Farm Bureau member, and a resident of any Illinois county located south of a line created by connecting the northern borders of Calhoun, Greene, Macoupin, Montgomery, Christian, Shelby, Cumberland, and Clark counties. Applicants may come from the aforementioned counties and any Illinois county located south of these counties. 25 - $1,200 scholarships and 10 - $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Greg Carney Scholarship Established by his family and friends, this scholarship honors the memory of Greg Carney, Farm Bureau employee and University of Illinois graduate. In addition to IAA General Scholarship guidelines, eligible recipient must be a University of Illinois student, actively involved in production agriculture in a family farm operation, have a track record of active 4-H membership, and major in agriculture. One $1,500 or two $750 scholarships will be awarded. Robert F. Rouse Scholarship Up to three scholarships for children of Lake County Farm Bureau® members, will be awarded to students majoring in agriculture, agribusiness, or a related field, or pursuing a nursing degree, and attending an accredited college, university, or community college in Illinois. $1,100 scholarships will be awarded. Fletcher A. Gourley and Leonard Southwell Scholarship Scholarship funds in memory of Mr. Gourley and honoring Mr. Southwell were established by Prairie Farms Dairy in honor of their many years of leadership. Four $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to children of current patrons, and four similar scholarships will be awarded to sons and daughters of current employees. To be eligible, the parent must have been an employee or patron on or before February 6, 2006. Applications and guidelines are available at http://www.iaafoundation.org.
